  5. inter-roma thoughts (not in order):

    • Pjanic showed good movement, almost nailed that penalty in 2nd half too… good start coordinating with Borini.
    • obviously Ranocchia’s the weak spot in defense & Osvaldo’s had some problems getting past Lucio on the left…and Samuel is a brute, why not keep blasting down the right?
    • Nagatomo* is a wiley one! don’t underestimate him! he should have had a goal.
    • not a fan of the ref overall. he was off
    • Kjaer… magic feet? holy crazy back heel clearance & quick recovery to save the attempt seconds later!
    • Taddei should have gotten punished for that studs up late very unnecessary tackle on Zanetti.
    • eek. hope DeRossi’s boy parts survived Sneijder’s inadvertent stomp…
    • Lucio’s officially made it to my shit list. Stekelenburg beat him to the ball. there was absolutely no reason for Lucio’s right foot to kick out (at Stekelenburg’s head AND shoulder) while the ball was further off in front of him to his left. easy enough to hurdle over w/o touching the keeper. should have been a red card.

AS Roma's goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg(bottom) is helped by his team mate Simon Kjaer as he lies on the pitch during their Serie A soccer match against Inter Milan at the San Siro stadium in Milan September 17, 2011.

hm. can they still issue a ban even though he was given a yellow? i never remember how that stuff works.

nuts… 0-0 draw. grr… i would have loved to see Roma get all 3 pts.

*just ‘cuz i greatly dislike the team doesn’t mean i automatically greatly dislike allllll the players on it. plus, i’m partial to asians who make it to the pros…

SS Lazio's Miroslav Klose (C) celebrates with teammates after scoring against AC Milan during their Italian Serie A soccer match at the San Siro stadium in Milan September 9, 2011.

oh serie a, i’ve missed you.

random thoughts from watching replay just now:

    • woohoo! alphabetically, lazio’s #1 on the table! (til tomorrow afternoon, that is)
    • i don’t like aquilani in red & black stripes. nope. not at all.
    • also the dissolving stripes of the kit looks silly.
    • i do like lazio’s use of all lowercase in names on kits. ‘cept for the missing é on cisse’s
    • it’s odd seeing Cissé & Klose with Lazio, but i can dig it (especially when lazio’s up 2 goals on milan)
    • boateng’s a beast. surprised he didn’t knock the breath out of Konko with that collision. is his hair is as soft as it looks? what kind of product do you suppose he uses? maybe it’s magic spray holding it up just as magic spray fixed his extremely exaggerated shoulder non-injury? even if he does have a bruise it’s from going to ground easily w/o or with very little provocation
    • ibra’s hair, on the other hand… um, let’s just say you might not want to let me anywhere near him with scissors (assuming he’s seated and i’m standing, that is)
    • robinho injured? my, what large diamonds he wears in his ears when not playing. (yeah i’m jealous) erm, ‘pelvic knock’ is listed as his injury. knock knock, who’s there….
    • van bommel still annoys me.
    • um, lazio keeper question… marchetti was suspended? bizzarri is a fun name.
    • cissé (still) amuses me. relieved he’s back in a league i watch. (sorry greece)
    • lazio, what’s up with all the one-letter-apart names? zauri, mauri. brocchi, rocchi. matuzalém…nevermind.
    • best play was probably Nesta making it back to block Cissé’s shot. definitely a happy/sad moment.
